The Defence Symposium (held under the auspices of ECM Technologies) will, as always, be held during the same week as Africa Aerospace and Defence. This event has been running successfully since 1998 and 2024 heralds the 13th in the series which has grown in stature from year-to-year and has become an important and "not-to-be-missed" fixture on the South African Defence calendar.

As usual attendance is free but strictly on an invite-only basis. This year’s event will once again be held at the prestigious Conference Centre at the Maslow Hotel, Time Square on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

The programme includes presentations by international speakers on latest trends and future technologies in areas ranging from optics, electro-optics and sensors, high-speed digital imaging, EOD/IEDD, Chemical and Biological Warfare and other high-tech defence related topics.

A full day's programme of four focused sessions is planned and refreshments and lunch will be provided for attendees and speakers in order to allow for more face-to-face interactions. The event will immediately be followed by an evening function.

Although attendance is by invite only, the organiser invites you to nominate colleagues or associates who could find this event of interest. Accommodation is limited by the size of the venue so make sure you register early once you receive your invitation. Preliminary response from international speakers indicate that this event will be as fulfilling as ever and past and new speakers are expected.
